The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Tulsa man was not wearing a life jacket when he drowned Sunday at Fort Gibson Lake.
Several fire departments were called after a report of a boat stranded on Fort Gibson Lake near Sequoyah State Park early Wednesday. The call came in as a line of severe thunderstorms moved across eastern Oklahoma.
Flooding is impacting travel in Cherokee County. ODOT has closed several roads in Cherokee County including State Highway 80 around five miles south of State Highway 51 between Hulbert and Fort Gibson.
